Downtown Athens is turning up the volume this spring and summer as Athens Main Street unveils a full lineup of live music, food, and family-friendly events designed to bring the community together.
Two popular series—the Merchants Alley Happy Hour Music Series and Fridays After Five—are set to return, offering weeks of entertainment that highlight the city’s growing energy and strong sense of community.
Kicking off April 24, the Merchants Alley series will feature weekly performances from local and regional artists through late June, creating a lively after-work atmosphere in the heart of downtown. Later in the evening, Fridays After Five will take over near the Limestone County Courthouse with live music, food trucks, a kids zone, and extended shopping hours.
“This is a really special year for Athens Main Street,” said organizer Tere Richardson. “There is nothing quite like live music to bring people together.”
Several dates will feature both events, giving residents a full evening of music and connection from alleyways to the courthouse square.
For Athens and surrounding communities, this season is more than entertainment—it’s a celebration of growth, culture, and hometown pride.
