Sermonette of the week: “Bad Times,Good News

By Pastor Mario D. Ford

Pastor Mario D. Ford

I think many, if not all of us, would agree we are living in some bad times.

These are days which test our character and try our faith.

There is a fool in the White House, who has turned the Presidency of the United States into a real-life episode of House of Cards.

The least, the last, and the lowly are being left out; the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer; people looking out for themselves and not for one another.

Our children are killing one another in the street, every time you turn on the television there has been

another shooting.

When you think you have heard it all, something else happens which cause us to shake our head — these are

some bad times.

If you are a child of God, who seeks to walk the straight and narrow path, the reality of life is you will run into the Devil every now and then.

The only way you aren’t running into Devil, is if you are running with Devil.

While these are some bad times, there is some good news.

Brothers and sisters, for all our worries there is a word, for all of our troubles there is a truth, and for all

of our mess God has a message!

The book of Nahum records in 1:7 “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.”

The book of Nahum is one of those obscure, lesser known, books of the Bible we don’t hear much about.

Consider to be a minor prophet due to it’s brevity, Nahum shares with us a major message as noted in the

aforementioned verse.

Whatever you are going through, know the Lord is good, a stronghold in theday of trouble; and He knows

those who trust in Him!
