Champions once again! The Alabama A&M University women’s bowling team delivered a performance for the history books, capturing their fourth Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament title in a thrilling and hard-fought championship run.
In Arlington, Texas, the Bulldogs battled through an intense eight-hour showdown, overcoming top-ranked Jackson State in the elimination bracket before defeating rival Alabama State 4-1 in the championship match. It marks Alabama A&M’s first SWAC title since 2014 and adds another milestone to a proud program legacy.
“I am just so proud of this team,” said head coach James Moore. “This was just an unbelievable day and an incredible run.”
The journey to victory was anything but easy. After an early loss, the Bulldogs fought their way back, defeating multiple opponents—including a dramatic comeback against Jackson State after trailing 3-0. Their resilience set the stage for a dominant championship finish.
Tournament MVP Rose Ugbinada sealed the victory in the final frame, delivering under pressure with a clutch spare and strike to secure the title.
Now, the Bulldogs turn their focus to the NCAA Tournament, carrying momentum and pride.
For Huntsville and Alabama A&M supporters, this victory is more than a championship—it’s a celebration of determination, excellence, and Bulldog pride.
