Huntsville is stepping up to celebrate Women’s History Month with an event designed to inspire, connect, and empower the community.
The City’s Parks & Recreation Department will host the third annual HerPower Walk on Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at John Hunt Park. The free, family-friendly 5K walk invites women, girls, and the men who support them to come together in a show of unity and strength.
Set along the scenic paved trail at the John Hunt Park Cross Country Course, the event will feature vendors, food trucks, music, and an atmosphere centered on encouragement and empowerment.
“HerPower Walk is about connection,” said Dorianne Johnson, Superintendent of Recreation for Community Services. “It’s an opportunity to come together, encourage one another and celebrate the strength that exists throughout our community.”
City leaders say the event continues to grow as a meaningful way for residents to engage, support one another, and celebrate women’s impact locally and beyond.
For Huntsville, this isn’t just a walk—it’s a movement. One that brings people together and reminds the community that when we uplift one another, we all move forward.
