Dozier Leads Six in Double Figures as Alabama A&M Tops Jackson State

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Kintavious Dozier poured in 31 points and led a balanced offensive attack as Alabama A&M University placed six players in double figures in a 100–91 Southwestern Athletic Conference victory over Jackson State on Monday night at the AAMU Event Center.

The Bulldogs overcame a four-point halftime deficit, erupting for 64 second-half points while shooting 56.7 percent from the field after the break. The win improved Alabama A&M to 9–8 overall and 2–2 in SWAC play.

Dozier finished just three points shy of his career high, knocking down 9-of-14 shots, including four three-pointers, while adding three rebounds and three assists. P.J. Eason recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while James Graham and Koron Davis each added 15 points. Gabe Kincy contributed 12 points off the bench, and Sami Pissis chipped in 12 points and four rebounds.

Jackson State was led by Daeshun Ruffin, who scored a game-high 39 points, but the Tigers were unable to keep pace with Alabama A&M’s depth and transition scoring.

The Bulldogs started strong, opening the game on a 6–0 run, but Jackson State responded with a barrage of three-pointers to seize momentum late in the first half. Alabama A&M trailed 40–36 at halftime.

Momentum shifted quickly after the break as the Bulldogs forced turnovers and capitalized with fast-break baskets. A decisive 16–4 run gave Alabama A&M a double-digit lead, which grew to as many as 17 points midway through the second half.

Jackson State cut the margin late, but Alabama A&M sealed the win at the free-throw line. Kincy punctuated the victory with a steal and fast-break dunk in the closing seconds to reach the 100-point mark.

Alabama A&M shot 51.8 percent overall, out-rebounded Jackson State 43–30, and outscored the Tigers 32–25 in fast-break points.
