(Right – Left) Mona Boyd and Mawuli Dzebu, co-owners of Landtours Ghana, have built West Africa’s largest Black-owned tour company, offering heritage-focused travel experiences for the African diaspora.

As global interest in Africa continues to surge, one company has emerged as a powerful gateway for the African diaspora seeking connection, history, and homecoming. Landtours Ghana, co-led by African American entrepreneur Mona Boyd and Ghanaian CEO and partner Mawuli Dzebu, is now recognized as West Africa’s largest Black-owned tour company—setting a new standard for heritage travel and cross-continental collaboration.

For more than 20 years, Landtours Ghana has curated award-winning travel experiences across Ghana, Togo, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Gambia. The company specializes in culturally immersive journeys designed especially for African Americans seeking reconnection, historical truth, and personal restoration.

“I didn’t just want to bring travelers to Africa,” Boyd said. “I wanted African Americans to come home—to partner, invest, and help shape a shared future.”

That vision took shape through Boyd’s partnership with Dzebu, whose leadership has helped transform Landtours into a major force in heritage, leisure, and business tourism.

“Our success shows what’s possible when Ghanaians and African Americans work together,” Dzebu said. “We are one family with one story, building an industry that reflects our collective excellence.”

Today, the Landtours ecosystem includes the Ghana franchises of Avis and Budget Rent a Car, creating a seamless mobility network for tourists, professionals, and diaspora returnees. The group also operates Ano Mansa Beach Resort in Elmina, a newly redeveloped seaside destination designed to deepen cultural connection through hospitality, wellness, and coastal heritage.

From “Return to the Motherland” and “Atonement” journeys to road-and-sea experiences linking Accra and Elmina, Landtours offers a holistic way to explore West Africa’s history, landscapes, and living cultures.

“Every journey we design is about identity, memory, and belonging,” Boyd said. “Each one leads back to who we are—and where our story began.”
