Alabama’s Jazz McKenzie delivers a stunning performance of “Cruisin’” in “The Voice” Knockouts. McKenzie advances to the Playoffs as coaches praise her as one of the strongest vocalists of Season 28.

Alabama singer Jazz McKenzie made a triumphant return to NBC’s “The Voice” Monday night, delivering a powerhouse Knockout performance that firmly cemented her as one of Season 28’s standout vocalists.

McKenzie, 31, had been off-screen for several weeks as other contestants competed, but the Birmingham native — now living in Huntsville — wasted no time reminding viewers why all four coaches turned for her during the Blind Auditions. Her soulful rendition of Smokey Robinson’s “Cruisin’” went head-to-head against teammate Teo Ramdel, who performed Bon Jovi’s “It’s My Life.”

The showdown was so compelling that “The Voice” released an early preview on Instagram and YouTube, signaling the moment as one of the season’s must-see battles.

Coaches Praise McKenzie’s Standout Talent

Each of the four celebrity coaches offered glowing reactions.

Snoop Dogg told her, “Jazz, you are an exceptional vocalist… you rewrote it.”
Niall Horan called her “arguably the best singer in this show,” praising her effortless vocal control.
Reba McEntire said, “Jazz, that was wonderful… unbelievable.”
Her team coach, Michael Bublé, said, “Jazz, God’s light radiates through you,” prompting an “Amen” from McEntire.

Bublé ultimately declared McKenzie the winner of the Knockout, eliminating Ramdel. “I think Jazz might be one of the greatest singers that I’ve heard in a long time,” he added. “She has a massive range… she could be a front-runner for winning this competition.”
