HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A popular fall tradition is creeping back into Huntsville this October. The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) and Huntsville Parks and Recreation will host the fourth annual Halloween Party and Haunted House on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 3–8 p.m. at the Jaycee Building at John Hunt Park, 2200 Jaycee Way. Admission is free and open to all ages.

The family-friendly celebration has quickly become a community favorite.

“We love hosting events that bring our community together, and this one has quickly become a favorite,” said HPD Chief Kirk Giles. “Our officers look forward to greeting kids, handing out candy, and building connections with the community in a safe and fun environment.”

Festivities and Fun

This year’s event promises a full lineup of activities for children and families, including:

  • Trick-or-treating booths
  • Bounce houses
  • Family-friendly entertainment and carnival games
  • Food trucks
  • A Haunted House, opening at 5 p.m.

Parks and Recreation Director James Gossett said the event has grown into one of the city’s most highly anticipated fall traditions.

“Each year, more families turn out to enjoy the activities, and the energy just keeps building,” Gossett said. “Together with Huntsville Police, we’re able to give people a positive Halloween experience they can count on year after year.”

Costumes are encouraged, though not required, and local vendors and nonprofit organizations will join the fun with candy booths and displays, ensuring plenty of treats for all.

The Halloween Party and Haunted House continue to highlight Huntsville’s commitment to community engagement, offering families a safe and festive space to celebrate the season.
