SPEAKIN’ OUT NEWS

Graduates of Space Camp now have an extra incentive to keep their eyes on the stars — and on Huntsville.
The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) has announced that it will offer scholarships worth up to $8,000 to students who complete Space Camp and choose to enroll at the university. The scholarship program is designed to strengthen UAH’s longstanding connection with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center and to encourage future scientists, engineers, and innovators to continue their studies in Rocket City.
“Space Camp inspires young people from across the country and around the world,” said a UAH spokesperson. “By extending scholarships to graduates, we’re building on that momentum and showing them there’s a place right here in Huntsville to pursue their education and career goals.”
The scholarships will be available beginning with the next academic cycle and can be applied toward tuition and fees. Eligible students must provide proof of completing Space Camp and meet UAH’s admission requirements.
UAH has long served as a hub for aerospace and engineering education, with close ties to NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, Redstone Arsenal, and Huntsville’s growing tech industry. Officials say the new scholarship program reflects the university’s commitment to nurturing a workforce for the region’s future.
For the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, the announcement is another milestone in its mission to inspire and educate. More than 1 million students have attended Space Camp since it launched in 1982, many of them later pursuing careers in science and engineering.
“With this partnership, we’re opening doors for Space Camp alumni to continue their journeys right here in the Rocket City,” the UAH spokesperson said.
More details on eligibility and application deadlines will be available through UAH’s admissions office.
