HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Get ready for smooth rhythms and soulful nights as the City of Huntsville and Downtown Huntsville, Inc. (DHI) proudly present the return of Jazz in the Park – Huntsville, taking place every Sunday in September.
This year’s free outdoor concert series will shift to Big Spring Park West due to construction at its usual venue, but the energy and talent remain unmatched. The series kicks off on Sunday, September 7, and runs through September 28, with live music from 5 to 9 p.m. each evening.
A blend of national recording artists and local favorites will take the stage, including the return of BK Jackson, Erisa Nicole, and performances by local jazz mainstays like Izzy & The Jazz Addicts and Element XI.
Mayor Tommy Battle praised the series for shaping Huntsville’s growing musical identity.
“Every year, I am amazed at the level of talent exhibited on the Jazz in the Park stage,” said Battle. “Huntsville continues to raise the bar.”
Mark Russell, DHI Board Chair, added that the downtown location allows jazz to echo through the heart of the city.
“This event connects people from all walks of life through music,” he said.
Dr. Randy Barbour, Director of Multicultural Affairs, emphasized the series’ legacy of celebrating diversity and artistic expression.
“Jazz in the Park is more than music—it’s a cultural movement,” Barbour said.
The series also aligns with Huntsville Music Month, a citywide celebration of local talent.
Music Officer Matt Mandrella noted that Jazz in the Park helps broaden the city’s musical range and spotlights incredible performers.
