Mayor Tony Kennon under fire after police report surfaces involving disturbing allegations at his second office.

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Mayor Tony Kennon is facing renewed public scrutiny after Lagniappe Daily released a report detailing police records tied to a possible domestic violence incident at a city-owned building last fall.

According to police documents, on September 2, 2024, a waitress from the nearby Pleasure Island Tiki Bar reported seeing a naked man on a balcony at the Coastal Resources office. The man allegedly grabbed a woman by the hair, punched her three times, and yelled, “You don’t ever walk out on me.”

Officers responded to the scene but did not enter after a man inside told them there was “no emergency.” A later review of body cam footage prompted a delayed welfare check on a woman identified in the report as Ms. Kennon, who denied that an incident had occurred.

Sources familiar with the body cam footage told Lagniappe that a man behind a closed door identified himself as “Tony Kennon,” after which officers did not pursue further investigation at the time.

In social media videos, Kennon denied any wrongdoing, calling the report false and politically motivated. He insisted the focus should remain on his leadership, saying he would continue to “protect the bubble” of Orange Beach.

Local attorney C.C. Dixon-Moreno has demanded the release of the full body cam footage and was briefly blocked from the mayor’s Facebook page after threatening legal action. The incident has sparked calls from both longtime and new critics urging voters to reconsider Kennon’s re-election bid on August 26.

This is not Kennon’s first controversy. In March 2025, the city settled two LGBTQ+ discrimination lawsuits for $300,000. In 2010, it paid $47,500 to settle a sexual misconduct claim involving a former Planning Commission member.

As the election nears, pressure is mounting on the mayor to respond more directly to the latest allegations.
