Popular baby bottles recalled due to high lead levels

A popular type of baby bottles has been recalled due to the potential of high lead levels in some products.

The Consumer Products Safety Commission issued a recall notice on NUK-branded glass feeding bottles that were originally developed for the United Kingdom market but unintentionally sold in the U.S. via an Amazon.com third-party seller, Astir Care. The bottles were designed for use with newborns to 6-month olds.

About 100 units of the bottles were sold in the U.S.

CPSC said the outside markings on the glass bottles contain lead levels that exceed U.S. federal limits. Lead can be toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues.

Consumers who have purchased the bottles are advised to quit using them immediately and go here to register for a kit to return them for free.
