A teenager was charged with murder after authorities said he fatally shot his ex-girlfriend during an argument Friday night in north Alabama.

Antonio Terrell Burks, 19, of Madison County, allegedly got into a dispute with his ex-girlfriend around 5:20 p.m. in the 28000 block of SW Wall Street in Madison, according to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call on the shooting and took Burks into custody.

Authorities said Burks and his ex-girlfriend got into an argument when the teen brandished a gun and shot her.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, was taken to Huntsville Hospital, where she died of her injuries.

No bond had been set for Burks as of early Friday evening.
