Alabama A&M Athletics Continues To Give Back To Community With Thanksgiving Donation to Harris Home

Alabama A&M student-athletes donated $700 worth of food to the Harris Home for Children in advance of Thanksgiving.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – As part of continuing efforts to engage and support the community it is a part of, Alabama A&M Athletics and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) have made a significant donation as we enter the holiday season.

This past week members of SAAC hit the aisles to shop for Thanksgiving staples for the sole purpose of making the holiday brighter for those at the Harris Home for Children. All told, they donated over $700 in food, including eight turkeys, six hams, sides, desserts and beverages.

A key member of the Huntsville community, the Harris Home offers home and support services for neglected children as well as those in crisis situations. It provides opportunities for these children to flourish in life and become great citizens not only in Huntsville but wherever they may go after their time with Harris.
