Thanks to Speakin Out News and to our many dedicated readers. Life is short so enjoy every day. You never know what can happen to us at any time. I thank God daily for Life, Health, Faith, Family and Friends. Thanks to those who have given me awards and recognition over the years as I am appreciative and honored. These include The Today Show, Mr. George Wells who wrote me a song “The Legend of Jackie Reed”, Speakin Out News and the City of Huntsville Leaders who have heard my speaking about the city for over 30 years. Thanks for the many friends who speak to me in public. It makes me happy and I love all of you.
VIRUS-COVID-19
There are an estimated 70 million eligible Americans that remain unvaccinated. Many of these unvaccinated people are not opposed to getting a shot. There has been a decline in Covid cases across the United States over the past few weeks that has given the hospitals some relief, but Administrators are concerned this could change with winter coming soon. There are many questions about the booster shots turning out to be more complicated than the original vaccines. Please read and listen to the news about this and take care of you and your family.
DEMOCRATS DIVIDED
Democrats are divided over the spending bill and this could go on until the end of the year. The details of Biden’s $3.5 trillion “care economy” Bill is still being debated. If congress does not lift the debt ceiling before October 28, the Treasury will not have enough cash on hand to pay the bills. What a mess our country has gotten itself into. Not to mention all the immigrants coming in this country.
PLANNING DEPARTMENT
I went to a Planning Department meeting last Tuesday evening. There was an agenda item called Character, location and extent and no one would explain what this meant. Nor would anyone explain what was going to be built where the current City Hall is located. Developers are saying that the new City Hall building will not overshadow Council Park like the existing does. I do not believe this to be true. The Planning Commission rezoned 7.3 acres downtown for another “mixed use” development. This property was one of the last sizable pieces of property downtown for this kind of development. The Planning Department and Administration has ruined this city with the developers wanting to develop so fast. This city reminds me of the Democrats wanting to spend more money when they are not able to pay for what we have now. Our leaders will not care about the debt they leave behind once they leave office.
Love you all and have a blessed week.
