The Progressive National Baptist Convention (PNBC) President Passing

The Progressive National Baptist Convention (PNBC) mourns the passing of their President, Rev. Dr. Timothy Stewart, Pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church in Nassau, Bahamas. Dr. Stewart passed on Friday, September 17, 2021, in Nassau. The PNBC membership totals 2.5 million members and is comprised of churches across North America, the Caribbean, and the world, and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. Dr. Stewart was the first non-American elected to be President of the PNBC. He was elected in August 2018.   Within Huntsville, Progressive Union M. B. Church, New Jerusalem M. B. Church, and Owens Chapel M. B. Church are all members of the PNBC. Dr. Stewart preached the last pastoral anniversary (32nd Anniversary) for the late Rev. Dr. Wayne Parker Snodgrass, Pastor of Progressive Union.  The celebration was held on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services.
