FACEBOOK EXPANSION

The Facebook data center located in North Huntsville Industrial Park near Toyota Motor Manufacturing will consist of four separate buildings of servers supporting Facebook and Instagram. It will be almost 2.5 million square-foot campus and represent and investment of more than $1 billion.  Construction of the third building is underway for the rest of the campus.  There has been over 24,000 tons of steel erected and 500,000 cubic yards of concrete poured. Facebook announced that the campus has contributed over 5 million work hours to the Huntsville economy which is great for our community.

DEMOCRATS vs REPUBLICANS

What has happened to the good ole USA and why now is it just about the political parties?  Our parents and grandparents would not believe what has happened to our country.  The elected officials are the biggest cause of it. The elected officials should be working for the people. Please love each other and pray for our Country.

CHILDREN SEPARATED

The Vice President met with the president of Mexico this past week to discuss how to address the migration issues.  The U.S. has identified 3,900 children that have been separated from their families, but several have been reunited with parents.  There needs to be a better way of dealing with the crossing of these immigrant into the US and these people need to go thru the proper process for immigration and becoming a citizen. Why are our leaders not doing anything about this?

CITY COUNCIL LEADERS

We need a new Government, Mayor and City Council in Huntsville.  Having attended the City Council meeting last Thursday night they did not show all the info related to the use of the old Coca Cola plant in their presentation that was later released in the Huntsville Times paper. In the Huntsville Times on Sunday, in the article “NEW LIFE COMING TO OLD CORNER OF DOWNTOWN”, we find out that we citizens have ben sacrificed again for an unjust cause.  The Huntsville City Council on Thursday night unanimously approved a $325 million project development agreement with a New York developer to develop a mix-use facility at the location of the former Cola-Cola plant property across from the VBC.  This property has been vacant since the plant closed in 2012.

The developer of the project is Rocket Development Partners LLC and will include 40,000 square feet of Class A Office space, a restaurant space and 26,000 square feet of retail space.  The site covers over 13 acres and will include an 800-space parking garage. A hotel is also planned for June 2025.  The city of Huntsville is investing over $4.8 Million in the project.  Davis Engineering said the city has been working on this since 2019.  I stopped at the coke building where they are now located about a year ago and talked to the owners and ask them what was going to happen to the coke property.  I was told by them that they were waiting on the city to decide.  So now we know, and another Big City deal has been made.

Love you all and have a blessed week.
