A Huntsville area private school is moving forward with plans for a $4 million extension to its elementary school campus.
Westminster Christian Academy recently held groundbreaking ceremonies for a campus expansion that will include eight new classrooms and a competition gymnasium with stage area for assemblies and fine arts performances, as well as a complete renovation of the outdoor playground.
The expansion reflects the growth in the community, according to WCA Head of School Stephen Hooks.
“The Huntsville/Madison County area is growing at a tremendous rate. This expansion will not only meet the needs we have today but allow us to grow to meet future demand,” Hooks said. “This project will enable us to better serve every Westminster student with new facilities for education, recreation, fine arts and play.”
Construction on the expansion at WCA’s lower campus on Mt. Zion Road is expected to begin this month with completion before the end of the year.
