Mother Georgia Mae Lacy Lanier celebrated her 103rd birthday on Saturday, April 17, 2021 with family members and friends, at her home in Huntsville. Mother Lanier actual birthday was on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Hosting the event were her son, Everett Lanier and her daughter, Mary Lanier Curry and other family members. Mother Lanier was born and raised in Madison County and have lived her entire life in Madison County. Her earlier years was spent in the Pond Beat community, presently the home of Redstone Arsenal. Mother Lanier is the last surviving Founding Member of Progressive Union M. B. Church, where she is still a member. Her and her late husband, Mr. Felix Lanier, Sr., were the parents of four children, Thomas (deceased), Everett, Mary and Felix, Jr., (deceased).
