Former President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated video on social media portraying himself in a physical altercation with a Canadian ice hockey player following Team USA’s gold medal victory in the Winter Olympics.

The minute-long video, posted to Trump’s Truth Social account early Monday, shows a digitally created version of Trump skating on the ice in a suit and tie. In the clip, he shoves Canadian players before removing his gloves and repeatedly punching one of them. The video later depicts him scoring a goal and celebrating with U.S. players.

The U.S. men’s hockey team secured the gold medal with an overtime win against Canada, marking the program’s first Olympic gold since the 1980 “Miracle on Ice.”

The final drew heightened attention amid recent political tensions between Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Trump has previously suggested Canada could become the 51st U.S. state — a proposal Carney rejected, saying Canada is “not for sale.”

Canadian sports fans have recently booed the U.S. national anthem at professional games, and American players were reportedly booed as they entered the ice for the Olympic final.

Trump also reposted commentary from Kari Lake, who wrote on X, “Trump, The ENFORCER!” in response to the video.

The clip follows another AI-generated video shared earlier this month that depicted Barack and Michelle Obama in offensive imagery. That post was later removed, with a White House official saying it had been “erroneously posted by a member of staff.”

The hockey video remained online as of publication.
