SHELBY COUNTY — A 63-year-old Pelham woman remains behind bars today following her arrest on felony charges involving the alleged sexual abuse and exploitation of a minor.
Lorri Kitchen was taken into custody Monday and booked into the Shelby County Jail. According to court documents unsealed Tuesday, the charges against her include:
- Production of child pornography involving minors
- First-degree sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12
The Allegations
The charges stem from an incident investigators say occurred on Dec. 5. According to charging affidavits, Kitchen is accused of using her hands to expose the genital area of a young girl. Records further allege that Kitchen then used a device to take several photographs of the child.
Current Legal Status
The Pelham Police Department is leading the ongoing investigation. As of Tuesday morning, Kitchen is being held on bonds totaling $90,000.
Public court records do not yet list a defense attorney for Kitchen, and no official statement has been released from her representatives.
