TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama A&M fought hard early but could not keep pace with undefeated Alabama, falling 66–43 on Monday night at Coleman Coliseum.
Coriah Beck and Moses Davenport combined for 21 points to lead the Bulldogs (1–3). Beck scored all 11 of her team-high points in the first half, adding four rebounds and three assists. Davenport finished with 10 points and three boards.
Alabama (4–0) was powered by balanced scoring, including 13 points each from Jessica Timmons and Essence Cody, while Diana Collins added 10.
Strong Start, Tough Finish
Alabama opened the game on a 12–4 run before AAMU responded with a 6–2 surge capped by a Beck bucket to pull within four. The Crimson Tide led 20–12 after the first quarter and extended the margin to 36–24 at halftime after a three-point play by Cody and a late scoring push.
The Bulldogs went nearly five minutes without a field goal to start the third quarter, managing only a layup from Jaida Belton as Alabama built a 41–26 lead. AAMU continued to struggle offensively in the fourth, allowing the Crimson Tide to pull away for the home win.
By the Numbers
Alabama A&M shot just 29.8% from the field (14-of-47) but excelled at the free-throw line, hitting 81.3% of their attempts. They collected 29 rebounds and scored 16 points off the bench.
Alabama shot 45.5% and dominated inside with 40 points in the paint, while capitalizing on turnovers with 20 points off AAMU’s 16 giveaways.
