HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A two-day resource event will be held this week in Huntsville to assist federal employees impacted by the government shutdown.
The event will take place on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 600 Governors Drive. Federal workers may drop in at any time to meet with representatives from the Alabama Career Center, temporary employment services, financial institutions, mental health providers, nonprofits, and other local agencies providing resources and guidance.
Attendees are asked to enter through Entrance No. 7, located on St. Clair Avenue across from the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, and bring a valid government ID for entry.
Parking will be available at First Baptist Church, though spaces are expected to fill quickly. Overflow parking will be provided at City Garage M, Redstone Federal Credit Union’s Twickenham Branch, and Vista at Councill Square, with free shuttle service running both days.
The event is organized by First Baptist Church, the City of Huntsville, the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber, Huntsville Rotary Club, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Leadership Greater Huntsville, and the Huntsville Committee of 100, among other partners.
