The Alabama A&M Bulldogs gave fans a Homecoming to remember, rolling past the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils in a commanding 45–25 victory at Louis Crews Stadium on Saturday.
With stands packed in maroon and white, the Bulldogs’ offense delivered an explosive performance, racking up over 240 rushing yards and more than 450 total yards in front of thousands of cheering alumni and fans celebrating Homecoming 2025.
Early Momentum
The Delta Devils struck first with a 45-yard field goal, but Alabama A&M quickly answered. Quarterback Eric Handleyconnected with Caleb Brownlow for a 16-yard touchdown, then found Jordan Chambers-Smith on a 12-yard pass to give the Bulldogs a 14–3 lead.
Mississippi Valley briefly tied the game with a short rushing touchdown, but the Bulldogs’ ground game began to dominate. Maurice Edwards IV broke through the defense for a 4-yard score, reclaiming the lead before halftime.
Third Quarter Surge
The Bulldogs came out of the locker room firing. Handley tossed another touchdown — a 16-yard strike to Franck Pierre — and kicker Alexis Lopez added a 24-yard field goal to extend the margin. Edwards followed with his second rushing touchdown of the night, and Ryan Morrow capped the quarter with a 3-yard score to make it 38–19.
Finishing Strong
In the final quarter, Kolton Nero sealed the win with a dazzling 44-yard touchdown run, sending the homecoming crowd into a roar.
Handley finished the night 24-of-32 for 247 yards and two touchdowns, while Pierre led the receivers with four catches for 88 yards.
Homecoming on The Hill
The win capped off a week filled with Bulldog pride — from the Gospel Explosion and NPHC Step Show to the Alumni Day Party and Homecoming Parade, where Miss AAMU waved proudly to the crowd.
As fireworks lit the sky over Louis Crews Stadium, fans celebrated both a victory on the field and the spirit of The Hillthat continues to unite generations of Bulldogs.
