As the search continues for missing Huntsville realtor Ronald Leslie Dumas Jr., his family is shifting focus to his three children — providing them with support and a sense of normalcy amid a months-long investigation.
On Tuesday, private investigator James Andrews, who is working alongside Dumas’ family, launched a GoFundMe campaign titled “Help Ronnie’s Kids Find Joy Amidst Tragedy” to support Dumas’ children — Kai (12), Lindsi (6), and Ryili (4) — during the summer.
“Ronnie is a dedicated father who loves his children and was deeply involved in their lives right up until the moment he was taken away from them,” the campaign reads, according to AL.com.
Dumas was last seen on December 15, 2024, on surveillance video entering a Memphis liquor store with two women. He left the store appearing unharmed. The next day, his car was found abandoned along Interstate 40 in Camden, Tennessee, and his phone later pinged in southern Memphis on December 21. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agencyadded him to its Missing Persons list on December 23.
In February, Huntsville police said new evidence pointed to an abduction.
“As we continue to search for Ronnie and answers, we cannot forget about the impact this is having on his young children,” the GoFundMe statement added, as cited by AL.com.
Andrews said the fundraiser hopes to give the children a chance to enjoy summer activities and birthday celebrations, including Kai’s wish to visit the LEGO store for his 13th birthday on June 11.
The campaign, which has a goal of $8,000, had raised about $600 as of June 3.
In April, FOX13 reported two individuals — Quintarius Shikelion White, 32, and Kierra Symone Clark, 27 — were arrested in connection to the case and are being held in Shelby County, Tenn. Three others — Dedrick Woodard, 26; Cassy Feathers, 43; and Jasmine Braden, 28 — face charges as accessories for harboring suspects.
Authorities are still seeking:
• Toure Laron McLaurin, 33, of Memphis — Wanted for first-degree kidnapping
• Sabrina Rochelle Chambers, 27, of Huntsville — Wanted for first-degree kidnapping
• Carissa Cash, 33, of Memphis — Wanted for first-degree receiving stolen property
