Huntsville lawmaker’s bill seeks to reduce maternal, infant mortality rates in Alabama

Alabama State Rep. Marilyn Lands believes a bill she introduced Tuesday for the upcoming legislative session will go a long way in reducing maternal and infant mortality rates in the state.

She has introduced House Bill 89, the Alabama Maternal Health Care Act. The legislation will allow the presumptive eligibility for pregnant women for Medicaid.
