Rev. Bobby L. Smith (Colonel, Retired Army) of Manassas, VA, passed away on May 5, 2023. Rev. Smith was born February 21, 1961, in Greensboro, AL, to the late Dorothy Louise Tubbs. He graduated from Druid City High School in Tuscaloosa, AL, and matriculated from Alabama A&M University in Normal, AL.
Smith entered the Army as a commissioned officer. He married Janice Marie Edwards-Smith (Lieutenant Colonel, Retired Army) of Smithfield, VA—their blessed union with three beautiful children, Desiree, Barbara (deceased), and Joshua.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Rev. Smith on May 31, 2023, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Woodbridge, VA, where he served as Assistant Pastor. Someone may find additional funeral details for the service order on the Church’s website at mobcwoodbridge.org.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home in Dale City, VA.
Visitation will be held on May 30, 2023, and he will lie in state on May 31, 2023, before the Celebration of Life Service. Burial will be at Quantico National Cemetery on June 1, 2023.
