A search is underway for a man police say stole gas from a church vehicle and immediately put it into his own SUV.
The theft, which was captured on surveillance video, happened June 7 in Prattville.
It was about 3:30 a.m. when police say the man was spotted on camera puncturing the fuel tank of a white Chevrolet work van at the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions building in Prattville.
He was then seen pouring the gasoline taken from the van into his own vehicle. Authorities said the suspect was possibly driving a 2006 or 2007 silver Ford Escape Hybrid.
Once identified, the man will be charged with breaking and entering a vehicle and fourth-degree theft of property.
